POD CASTING

Education in the twenty-first century should focus on the development of authentic literacy skills for students. Learning to read, write, listen, speak, critically analyze information and communicate ideas using a variety of modalities is vital for children of all ages. One of the most basic and powerful ways to increase student motivation to write and communicate is to change student perceptions of audience.
I think Some students are motivated to write to please their teacher and earn a high grade, but that is not the case for everyone. Instead of asking students to write exclusively for an audience of one (the teacher) using technology from the mid 1500s (a pencil,) teachers can now challenge students to publish for a global listening audience via a classroom podcast.Thousands of podcasts are being published for both local and global audiences on a multitude of topics.
there are so many benefits of pod casting like
1. Podcasting is cheap
2. Podcasting invites a global audience
3. Podcasting is digital storytelling
4.Podcasting provides a window into the classroom
5.Podcasting can be creative
6.Podcasting can be fun
Classroom podcasts can provide engaging opportunities for students to develop desirable skills as digital storytellers and cutting-edge communicators. The price is right, and the benefits are plentiful.

BLOGGER AS A TOOL FOR LEARNING

I think blogger is a great tool for learning and i have several future plans to use it in my teaching as a tool.Blogging is very helpful for shy students who hardly speak in the class room because they can express their views on blog without any hesitation.Sharing ideas on blog can boost the confidence in all students, they can improve a lot because of having the audience in their minds.i think with the perspective of an English teacher, blogging is an excellent tool to learn and to teach too.

Transformation of an unskilled internet savvy into an ETAC trainee:

Since I joined Beaconhouse I was desperate to use best of my abilities as a teacher, I started working on my own to use more and more technology in my lesson plans as an English teacher and it brought me to this platform on which I am now able to evaluate my teaching and use technology in a better and effective way…now I am a trainee to be an ETAC ambassador and I am proud of it because I am learning a lot, thanks to them all who trusted me to be there and supported me a lot.
Since I have started Etac, I have changed a lot in several ways.
Ø I have gained more confidence.
Ø I have improved my ICT skills.
Ø I can find ways to direct my creativity in teaching with technology.
Ø I am learning everyday from my teaching.
Ø I can manage things in a timely manner now.
Ø I can communicate in a better way to express my ideas on any forum.
And if I think about that ‘which ICT skill I have developed on my own’ then I think of using “internet” in a better and effective manner as a teaching tool.
If I evaluate my students for a change since I have been on ETAC then the answer is “very positive”……….my students have shown remarkable performance in technology integrated lessons and they are so eager to learn more and more. The desire for learning is so strong in most of the students that they can’t wait to go in computer lab. I used not only computers and soft wares but also used camera while taking interviews (by students). I am so glad that my students are happy to learn, and learning is not a dull and boring process for them anymore, their enhanced learning is my achievement.
I think I have bored you all more than enough. Thanks for reading if you have read and bye for now.

what is "change"

we hear a lot about"change" but what is change???
do we know what is change?
sometimes when i think about the changing world and take a look at our rural population
i get very upset that still they are using donkey carts, bull carts, triditonal tools(axes for killing kari....just kidding), and everything that belongs to early ages but the astonishing thing in their hand is the one and only"cell phone".........to which extent have we accepted the change? do we really care for that what we should accept to progress not for comfort only.
